Is it my imagination or are the leaves beginning to fall earlier this year? Our Canadian summer provided plenty rain and I assumed the trees would cling on to their leaves as long as possible. Then again, you know what people say about assuming!
I am off to see family and friends in England this month. I will be visiting and sightseeing, as always, and doing a bit of book promotion if all works out. My second novel, Time Out of Mind, was written mainly about the area of East Sussex to which I am returning and I hope to get a local magazine with an interesting title (Magnet) to review that book. After all, how often is it that a writer in Canada makes a big feature of a small town across the Atlantic? I’ll let you know if I am successful.
Another thing I will do is to leave a copy of one of my books in the self-catering place where I am staying. I will include some information about my novels and tell them where to find copies online. Who knows if a visitor from Europe might discover books they like and introduce them to a country where they are presently unknown.
Well, I can always hope! Have a good fall season and get ready for more reading time.
